about

After two years of playing shows and some touring, Solar One is set to release his latest works. For the “Better Late Than Never EP”, he has also brought along beatbox champion Stubble (Albuquerque NM), and DJ Intro on the 1’s and 2’s. Solar One is known around the Southwest for having deep introspective songs, and a very tight stage show. If you have yet to see him perform live, humor is a huge aspect of the set. Solar One is a definitely a character, and his banter with the crowd is nothing short of hilarious. The beats are jazz and funk oriented, and the lyrics are smooth and consistent. With the addition of Stubble, who is one of the standout beatbox performers in the US, the show has a dynamic feel and style that makes for a can’t miss performance.

The “Better Late Than Never EP” is a culmination of works from the last two years following the release of “Dark Days Pass” during the summer of 2009. All of the production comes from Albuquerque beatmaker Illastr8ed. For this project, he created a powerful collection of beats with an innovative sound, and unique feel. The lyrical stylings of Solar One tread over many topics, including life, love, addiction, having a good time, and touring experiences. The years of shows and recording sessions have evolved Solar One from a young man struggling to find a voice, to a seasoned veteran with a powerful voice in the hip hop community. Having gained many fans both young and old, Solar One finds a way to stay relevant to every sector of his fan base, while trying to innovate and include new aspects to his music.
